Atrani lights up for Christmas 2025: lights, events, and the “Calata della Stella”

This Christmas season, Atrani invites you to step into a living postcard on the Amalfi Coast.

On Saturday, November 29, at 6:30 PM, the village officially welcomes the holidays with the lighting of the Christmas Lights 2025, part of the project “Atrani Is Light”.

As night falls, Atrani transforms into a magical open-air nativity scene, where glowing alleys, stone arches, and intimate piazzas sparkle above the Mediterranean Sea.

From this moment on, Atrani comes alive with a warm and joyful calendar of Christmas events, filled with music, ancient traditions, and heartfelt celebrations that bring together locals and visitors through January.

The most unforgettable moment of the season is the Calata della Stella of Atrani, one of the most enchanting Christmas traditions on the entire Amalfi Coast.

In complete silence and darkness, a giant luminous star slowly descends from Mount Aureo, gliding over rooftops and cliffs, until it reaches the terrace of the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Maddalena. As the star floats through the sky like a comet of light, the village watches in awe, while fireworks illuminate the night.

This deeply moving ceremony has been celebrated for more than 140 editions and remains a powerful symbol of faith, hope, and community for the people of Atrani.
